Design: The Type 2 Fast Attack Vehicle was designed to serve Starfleet ground troops as a fast attack vehicle. To this end, it was fitted with a type 4 phaser emitter controlled from the passenger seat. It also has light shields to defend the vehicle from small arms fire.
The vehicle also contains a large forward sensor array.
The vehicle is equipped with four landing struts, which are used to support the vehicle while the propulsion system is deactivated. They also contain an magnetic suspension unit that will soften the landing if the propulsion system fails.
The rear compartment is designed to be used for carrying anything from spare starship parts to Starfleet officers.
