Who's buying Star Trek online?
« on: 23 January 2010 11:38 PM »
I don't know if theres already a thread on this, so sorry if there is.

I decided I'm not. Even to pay $50 for the game would be a maybe question but to pay $14.99 per month on top of that... no way.

I'm kind of stuck if I want the game to succeed. If it does good, maybe more Star Trek games will follow(the good), but then they might make more Multi player online games(the bad). I'm a play against the AI type of person.

Edit: Oppps...didn't know there was a Star Trek online section...sorry

I am buying it! getting the preorder + the life time subscription... gets around $300(game+sub) that's about 1 and a half years worth if you paid $15 a month.

(and I will be able to play the game forever more without having to pay more)

btw there is AI in STO that's called PvE 99% of the missions are PvE.
If you want to play against a Player that's PvP and those are set in maps set aside from the rest of the game.

That's good to know, I do have another problem. My computer is as laptop with a built in video card(32MB) even though it can play many 128MB games, most companies block it and don't even let me attempt it. Example: it WILL play Star Trek Legacy and World in Conflict just fine.

I'll be getting it, but I doubt I'll be able to shell out for the lifetime membership... it does make sense in the long run, but it's a hell of a whack in one go!

Im buying this week. even if i have to borrow money.  Can not spring for the lifetime.  I know enough to know I want to play the game awile and cancel my Cityof heroes a couple months.  I do not know if this game had 2-3 year potential anyway.  I know it has 6 month-year potential so I will buy it.

Pre-ordered from Atari, the digital deluxe edition (like an hour before they announced the syfy package (ARGH!).  So you will be seeing me on Friday (unfortunately not until 7pm EST)

I pre-ordered the GameStop way back...got the keys two/three weeks ago. So yah, I bought it.
As to the lifetime sub., well...that may be a problem on the budget atm. If the lifetime comes back up later on, I'll probably buy into it later on then.

DDE preorder, Life Sub 2 minutes after I started reading the offer.

I'll be there so beware when you play Fed.
