It's a good thing the Federation isn't an all-out aggressive society the poor Klingon's would get ganked at this rate.

I have to admit I'm pretty surprised at this ratio so far.

Could Cryptic have made a huge mistake choosing Klingons as the second playable faction??

I think most feds here would have been federation anyway, no matter what the other option was. Also, a bunch of Klingons out there might not be interested in playing a Cardassian or Romulan and go with Federation. So I actually think Fed would have been the major group, no matter what the opponent was.

I will start with Federation. Andorians are awesome. Then I will see what happens to Cardassia in the expansions. If it's in Federation, I'll stick with it. I doubt it will be it's own faction, Cardassia is like Japan after WWII. If it's destroyed by the Klingons then I obviously can't play them. In that case I would go with the other lovable scoundrel race, the Romulans.

When Cryptic makes the First Federation playable, I'm all there.

My Fesarius class ship would blow away 10 Sovereign class vessels!

The First Federation? If they are that powerful and interesting, they should be in the Dominion expansion pack.

Unfortunately, I doubt the First Federation will actually appear in STO. I'd like it to, but it probably wont since it came from TOS, and the story of the First Federation never carried forward into TNG, DS9 or VOY.

Therefore I think STO would be a good place to explore the First Federation story, but since TOS isn't as popular with the fans of STO, odds are we won't see it.

But if it did become a playable race? I'd be on it in a heartbeat.

Well, I have a feeling that the Jem'Hadar will establish a junta in the Gamma Quadrant. There's not alot of known races in the Gamma Quadrant. So Cryptic can put alot of minor races of other quadrants in that expansion pack.
