Where did they mention exactly that this was a new class of starship?
Yeah... that's what I was thinking... *needing a confused emote*

again, subpar graphics at play, looks 15 years out of date. first one is an iteresting cargo bay with a small fire in it? but graphically it's to grainy. secondone is definatly wrong, the asteroids look ok, but a bit to much bump mapping going on.

the bases on it look like something hey did in the early days of games, where they toock a general shape and just slapped a texture on it then stuck it on another model. no thought or energy in putting that model together.

the ship, well i've said what can be said about the crappy ships for awhile now, so i'll leave it at that.

sorry the mroe i see, grapjhically this game will eb a flop, playrs want sometginbg that looks like it's belongs within the last 2-3 yers, not something they got way back in the late 80's.

unfortunatly i have to agree with you

I have to constantly keep reminding myself where graphics will be in a few years.

Any problems I have with graphics will change over time as the have since Pong.

February is on the way and we will also see what kind of dramatic affect (if any) the switch to an all digital North America has with regards to internet gaming speeds.

Any problems I have with the limitations of anything I see will be overcome in time.

Though immediate gratification is nice...STO is a long term evolution.

The Lowa class or never the less the Saber is exactly what I like to see especialy in interior view. Also the cargo bay interior what looks alike in EF2 is what I expect. :startrek016:

When I first saw the screenshot with the asteroids, I thought it was Nausicaan. I've been doing research (little known races are gold for fanfiction) and they have starbases on asteroids. I hope we do see some Klingon faction pictures soon. Most of these pictures have been generic or Federation.

Endie makes a good point - at the end of the day, it really is gameplay thats most important.  Some of my favorite games to play today are still old classics like Max Payne, Starfleet Academy, The original Empire Earth, etc etc.

As long as STO has a great storyline and good graphics, I think we are ok.

that's the point zack, i'm still waiting on good graphics, so far all they'e shown is bad graphics (except for the landscape, but that's usually very wasy to do).

In the end, I think, personal imagination is just as, if not more, important than a good game design.  We, as a community, so badly want "the" Star Trek game.  But let's be honest, until they develop a real holodeck and tie them into the net so that I can be in the same scenario as, say someone in Serbia, then we aren't going to be satisfied.  I don't know about anyone else, but when I approach something like a new Trek game or a new Trek series or movie, I WANT to enjoy it.  And it takes a really really really bad product to fail to entertain me when I am LOOKING to be entertained.  That isn't to say that I am always happy with what we are given.  Examples, Borg Queen, Chakotay, uncalled for character death (cough Trip cough).  The "Special Edition" Star Wars'...bad.  I digress...

My core group of gamers have been roleplaying their Star Trek characters in-game across every MMO we've ever played.  In one fashion or another, our crew slips from dimension to dimension looking for home.  From the peaks of the Everfrost Mountains of Norrath to the alleys of Victory City, we've worked with what we've had.  You may have run into Aizar the paladin in Shattrath City or run into Aizar Kel at the steps of Cerberus City Hall on Dantooine.  But one thing is sure, when STO launches, we will be home.  And if the content is bad, we will make it into what we want it to be.  We have the power....

(looks around for Castle Greyskull)
