Raptor-class escort/patrol vessel
Class: Raptor-class escort vessel
Length: 300 feet
Beam: 150 feet (including nacelle)
Height: 150feet (including nacelle)
Departmental class: combat vessel
Cruise Velocity: Warp 7
Maximum Velocity: Warp 9 (for three hours)
Weapons systems: Four photon torpedo launchers (mounted on the warp nacelle), 10 disruptor emitters, one plasma torpedo launcher (below the navigational deflector).
Decks: 6
Crew compliment: 150, evacuation limit unknown.
Design:
The raptor-class escorts were designed shortly after the end of the Dominion war. Desperately needing an escort vessel to reinforce the weakened fleet, the designers turned to the old ring-nacelle design. They were able to design and build the first Raptor-class inside of a year.
Despite several early design flaws, and the common complaint that the disrupters weren’t powerful enough or placed correctly, the Raptor-class became quite a common sight patrolling the Romulan Empire’s borders.
Alignment & Era: Romulan Star Empire, “Nemesis” Era
Mission profile: these ships have two major missions. The primary mission it to escort the larger D’drex- and Valdore-class warbirds, and prevent them from being outmaneuvered. The secondary one is as patrol ships on the Romulan border.
Purpose within Romulan Star Empire: To escort the larger Warbirds, and to patrol the borders.
Purpose within Star Trek Online: the Raptor-class patrol/escort craft is primarily a mid-level enemy craft, but a high-level quest could allow you to capture one to use as your personal ship.

nice design^^ i like it^^

im not totally sure...but i dont think a torpedo launcher can be mounted on a warp nacelle... shouldnt people be able to get into it? last time i checked, warp plasma burns. badly.
also...i dont think "raptor" is a good name for a rommie ship...but now im just nit picking :P
besides that it looks pretty good. nice to blow up :3

Good question. The launchers are automated, so no one has to be in them to run them. Also, I forgot to mention that the nacelle includes a shielded corridor that allows easy access to the torpedo bays, even while at warp.
I would have given it a more Romulan name, but I couldn't think one up.
-
well in my experiences, the rommies like to use birds as their ship classes. but then again the feds use birds too every so often >_<
as for the shielded pathway, that sounds good.
-
try find a name here;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_of_pray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bird_of_pray)
and you can use the same names as the feds, i at least dont see the problem as long as you dont use the same designasion.
(eks. dont do: Kite class Scout. Romulan Kite class Scout. Do: Kite class scout. Romulan Kite class destroyer. did that figure?)

Actually, I would try HERE (http://www.tos.net/empires/romulan/romdict.html), the Dictionary of Romulan Language.
You could name a class ch'Havran, which would be named after the Planet of the Wandering Travellers!

I would hope there is a frontal view coming soon. And,though not a cannon vessel, there was a raptor class in Armada so that actualy might be a good name for a Romulan ship.
-
I finished the front and rear views.
that dictonary is cool, but it is also Romulan-to-English, so it isn't much help.
-
Interesting design - seems to be influenced by Vulcan Ships.
-
yes, yes, yes. i really like this design.
whats that, a singularity at constant distance off stern. oh what the hell!
:supernova: :photon: :photon: :photon: :Constitution:

Looks Vulcan. I would believe it to be Romulan if it were from, say, the 'Enterprise' era and not the 'Nemesis' era
