Star Trek: Excalibur - Intel
« on: 21 September 2008 02:00 PM »

"Our network analysts at Section-5 were able to bypass the surveillance protection systems at a restricted Starfleet drydock near Utopia Planitia, Mars and have obtained the attached image. This drydock facility uses a new type of jamming system that we have never seen used by the Federation before, one which appears resistant to even our latest sensor technology.

More importantly, we have discovered a new class of ship being built in complete secrecy; Based on it's configuration and size it is likely a variant of the Excalibur Class prototype, the U.S.S. Excalibur NX-90000, which has been in service on a deep space exploration mission for over 5 years.
As we know, that vessel had undergone 3 major refits to address weaknesses and improve its performance, prior to its presumed loss to the Borg.

Our intelligence confirms that this is the first ship of the final 'Excalibur Class' line, but further details about its specifications and future production runs are heavily encrypted and secured by Starfleet.

Should further information become available, we will advise."
