Well it's an interesting 'What if?' Story, but thats all it is.  The story would have made an interesting read until the part about the cealier having become the borg.

When people were first clamouring Paramount and Gene roddenberry about the borg, Gene in a roundabout way indicated that Vger and the machine planet were the origin of the borg, which when you think about it makes perfect sense.

I agree with everyone else here, destroy the borg?? their like roaches, almost impossible to get rid of them all   :startrek021:

I miss the old books (can't get them where I live anymore)

The Gorn were featured in the Gateways books, specifically in the TNG book. Check it out for a little Gorn on Gorn action. =)

I made a Gorn NPC last year for an aborted ST game I ran, he was a tactical officer. Maybe I'll bring him back for STO. Dunno about him being on the Klingon side, tho.

Might be cool to walk around like a zombie saying "I gggrrrrow weary of the chasssssssse Kirk..."  ;)

I've been pondering this question some more.  I've also bounced some ideas off of a few fellow Trekkies.  Here's my current hypothesis:

I think that STO is moving along the concept of the Temporal Cold War.  Perhaps the mysterious bad guys are, in fact, an antagonist in the Temporal Cold War.

God in Heaven, I hope not. That was an idea that seemed good on paper but totally bombed IMO.
