Well there goes my love of STO. I was looking forward to this so badly. Told there would be ships interiors, away teams, I mean they released screenshots of ship interiors then took them down, should of guessed why. Oh well guess ill just go get friggin Bridge commander or Legacys and play that online, because without the ship interior and that first person feel, its nothing more than those games online.

Yeah you have my suport as well..
I am a Star Trek Fan and a Star Wars Fan and with the SOE Debacle over SWG I felt I got shafted on many things in there..
I was disapointed to hear that STO devs first would not have 3D space combat and now we hear that we will have no interiors to our ship????
WTH?? Even SWG has interiors to thier ships!!! and 3D combat as well!!!!
As a pro Gamer, I would just for once to have a game that is fully imersible and has a steep learning curve and is a severe challange to learn!
I have played SW and ST games over the years and would think it is a bout time to have a decent game from a franchise that I love.

BTW my first post here fed1

Shoot if there aren't going to be ship interiors they may as well shut down the game now. That is hugely disappointing.

Indeed this is very disturbing.  To be honest, the content in this game which surrounds the player him/her self should be VERY easy to create, or I should say, easy if they were to stick with the core of Star Trek.  For the most part, the look and feel of the insides of the majority of the ships are very similar.  Hell, alot of the ship designs already exist!  Expand on those to create your own look and feel - that is all fine, but keep the core Star Trek content feel, and not only will your jobs be easier, but the community will certainly get behind you!

Interiors:  Not having them at all is simply unacceptable to any real Trek fan IMO - "settling" for less would just be the first of many compromises which would lead to an inferior product and ultimately just another MMO money sink based around a popular license.  I can understand having only two or three "rooms" in a smaller ship in between a runabout and defiant sized ship, but not doing them at all cuts the world immersion by at least 50% for me and I think others as well.

Interfacing and ship combat:  Less like Legacy and more like EVE...Well I don't really know of a response to that that wouldn't be offensive, so I'll put it this way.  Making this an external combat only system (like EVE/Legacy) also drops the immersion down serveral large steps.  It takes the focus and pulls it out and away from the the individual, which is a slap in the face to any lover of trek.  So now I'm just some ship, and if i squint so hard my eyeballs turn to mush, turn my resolution up to 4096x3072, and zoom alllll the way in I can see the tops of the heads of myself and the other "members" of my crew through the windows.

And Kinneas hit it on the head - right now with the apparent current plan of action, the game will be an one person show, very unpersonal, and excessively light on the immersion.  So in doing that you'll gain the 1-2 month caffiene kids looking for another mmo fix and alienate the MILLION's of Trek fans world-wide - sure you'll have your millions in profit, just like the big bosses asked for, but at what cost?

(all was written with as much thought as could be managed at 1:30 in the morning, but was written with thought and my own opinions nevertheless - consider that before considering a 1 sentence bash reply)

With the recent stream of interviews from Perpetual Entertainment Lately (MMORPG.com, TrekMovie.com, STOcast) it has become quite clear that the vision for Star Trek Online has changed once again, and that now, the bulk of player ships will not have ship interiors, and in fact might not even support NPC crews!

This revelation has stunned much of the Star Trek Online community, with people all over the place in a rage about it - This has been one of the things people have been looking forward too since the game was announced back in 2004 - the ability to have a crew and explore your ship - an extension of Bridge Commander to the millionth power, and now they are talking about removing that - and limiting ship interiors to their so called hubs, ships like the Galaxy Class, Soverign Class, etc etc.

Well, Hailing Frequency says NO to this, we want the ship interiors that we have been looking forward to since day one, and we are going to do whatever it takes to get them.

Post your support here - all responses to this thread will be compiled into a petition that will be forwarded to the head honcho himself, Daron Stinnett, Executive Producer of Star Trek Online.

Here is the key that they are missing! Most of star trek was spent on the ship not on some planet scanning for new types of plants, getting odd rashes and other nasty stuff. When there were on world it was for a reason, exploration and a whole list of others but for the most part they were on a ship. I want to be part of a ship crew with real players have my own room, and have to use real in game tactics to succeed.
