I'll probably about the same for STO. Which means I'll need a new computer. :(

I am running Windows 7 and Champions works on it, so although its not included on the official list, it works.

Grrr... Looks like I'm gonna have to upgrade my processor... Everything else on that list checks out fine. If STO has similar requirements, I'd better start saving pennies :P

nah not really. just get a processorr/motherbaord bundle like i did :) £130 for it.

I find it hard to believe that this MMO will require an 8800 or above, when the graphics don't seems to be all that.

They actually only require these specs Minimum System Requirements

OS:Windows XP/Vista

Sorry, you aren't getting what iam saying. Looking at the graphics and such, i don't see the reason for even if those min specs are that. I just don't, the in game screenshots other than the space shots look perhaps high requirement, but overall i haven t nothing that makes me to believe that it will require such requirements. I have high end machine, which nothing at this point i will be below anything but i think Cryptic is insane when it comes such specs.

Normally i have been that critical of the game, however as more and more images come out i become far more impressed, iam more impressed by the space shots than anything else and that is kinda of boarding my doubts about this game all together.

Acidrain, I think you might be forgetting that we'll still want the game running smoothly when you're in the middle of a battle with dozens of ship around.

As an example: my laptop meets the WoW requirements, and when I first played the trail, everything went smooth. Untill I reached the first city... I was able to walk about 1 foot/minute. My system was simply unable to render all the characters running around.
The same thing might happen in STO: System specs shouldn't only be able to render what we've seen in the screenshots, but also massive fleet battles.

I can confirm, having played Champions, that at least 2gb of RAM is needed in the more intense situations.

The graphics are deceptivly good.   They look comic booky, but they are very detailed
