Today is a historic and monumental day in the world of Star Trek Gaming - a day that trek fans and trek gamers have been waiting for since the year 2001, a day which some said would never come, but patience has been a virtue and the day has arrived.

Today, Cryptic Studios have officially announced the begining of closed beta for Star Trek Online as of today, October 22!

On the Star Trek Online Website, Cryptic had the following to say:

If you've signed up, keep an eye on your email, as we'll periodically be inviting people to join in and share their feedback. Additionally, if you look to the right of the page, the "Closed Beta" application graphic will change to indicate you've been accepted, if you've in fact been accepted. (It'll read "ACCEPTED" in big, bold letters.)

If you haven't signed up yet, head on over to the preview application, create an account if you haven't and sign up!

Let the fun times begin people - Trek Gaming is back and its raring to go!

I think my email provider might sent me out a message saying:

STOP PUSHIN F5 and GO OUTSIDE!

I'll just patiently wait for the email, I know its coming, I wasted money on the failed experiment that was Champions Online! Oh well lets hope they make a better job with STO.
