Razor aka JR Sutich quits Cryptic Studios
« on: 23 December 2008 11:45 AM »
Following the takeover of Cryptic Studios by Atart, community members noticed that the popular community representative "Razor" appeared to vanish and be replaced by Awen aka Nicole Hamlett.

Yesterday, Awen ended the speculation about where Razor had gone with the following post:

Quote
Hey guys, sorry to be the bearer of bad news here. Razor has left the company to pursue other opportunities. He will be missed greatly, especially by me.

In the meantime, I'm going to do my best to make sure that you guys are kept up to date, that you have information and that you have a person to voice your concerns, ideas and issues to.

OH ps. If you see a few strange names on the forums over the Holidays, they are helping keep an eye on the forums. Please be kind to them.

Razor will be greatly missed by the staff here at Hailing Frequency.

from the "cryptic" (as is the defintion, not the company) responses from the company, it wold seem, this was not a "I quit" but more of a "Ypu're fired".

The sudden disapearence of several "moderators" on their forums makes me wonder what's really going on there. I ahve a feeling that infogames really pushed for this buy as they "knew" STO was going the wrong direction and they have a plan to get it back on track. the Whole added year in the press release (come on now no one would let that slip through unless it was fact), coupled with staff cutbacks sounds a lot like someone in Infogames is going to have a activehand in restructuring and making STO better than that 'censored' they were going to try again.
