No comment, you all know what i'd say anyways :D

And I think I'd agree with you.

It seems like everything worthwhile experiencing in the Trek world is gonna be on rails. The lack of ship interior sounds to me like a big letdown. In Trek, the ship (or the starbase in the case of DS9) was always a critical part of the scenery, heck, as important and as visible if not more visible than the cast.

I also have concerns that the crew over at Cryptic even have a clue about Star Trek in general. Fleets act with autonomy? Since when? Starfleet Commnd isn't out of communications range anymore like it was in Kirk's era.

My final comment is about the MMO building itself. We have seen with Age of Conan and Warhammer Online, that incomplete MMOs don't go over well and only serve to upset gamers and push them away. Waiting till "future expansions" to implement features, abilities and content that players expect at the outset is the first step on the path to MMO failure. This isn't 4 years ago when World of Warcraft was just coming out. You can't skate by on laurels and IP name anymore. You have to deliver top notch MMO experience right out of the gate, or you might as well not bother.

Hmmm, good interview. However i didn't care for the answer he gave on the people who play 10-20hrs to those that play 1-2hrs a week. It sounded as if he just brushed it off and didn't care.

Zack, how come they don't put the interviews that you conduct on there front page? Very good interview nonetheless.

I'm disappointed in the interiors, as well, but I'm really happy to her about the autonomy of fleets. This will allow both large and small fleets to have a lot of freedom in how they operate, which is always a good thing.

Ive always wondered about that, you guys do some really good interviews and i have to say this is one of your best with the amount of details when it comes to the game and they answered alot of it. Perhaps talk to the PR lady, you deserve the amount of PR that you have put into it all. Keep up the good work, keep sending us updates.

Cheers,

That is awesome, though they aren't sure how large they will allow them to become though why even put an restriction on fleet groups when there are groups that are huge.

I'm afraid I agree, Bethesda did'nt pay the franchise the appropriate respect and got so reamed over it they have shown great reluctance over making another trek title and well they should. Cryptic better take that lesson to heart and push back launch of STO for a year IMHO and do it right, or the fans WILL let them have it and hard. I'm getting the distinct impression more and more that STO is bieng rushed in an attempt to take advantage of the new movie launch ( and perhaps the coming christmas season?).
I really wish I felt differently about this, but I see no reason to at this point.

In some ways I'm happy with their answers, in others, I am disappointed. I am glad that they will have good options for fleets. I think some of the other answers were just responding without really answering the question.

The major thing i'm so peeved at is the whole guild centric fleet system they've got going, it is so anti-trek it ain't funny. yes guilds are going to play, we know that, but don't go 100% catering to them, give them a bone and a simple system to work together. but owning Bases and ships? that's just asking for a lot of trouble. we've seen it in other titles that are guild centric, and we'll see it in STO now. the large numbered fleets will dominate and the little fleets or individuals will suffer and leave.

Yeah, while i realize that the situation with the entire guild/fleets is rather disturbing and the catering to those does that mean everyone will be forced into some type of fleet? Like someone like me, i would like to play independent and perhaps at a later join a fleet or start a fleet. Though i hope they don't go the way of giving these bases and such, however who knows at times i dont know what they are doing as they don't give allot of information.

Why would you be forced to join a fleet?
