Well, this is the topic that brought me here, but I only have one question:

How do we get into Beta?

Another question for Cryptic:

Now that your website has launched, the forums are active and we have seen your initial vision, I'd like to know what sort of steps you will be taking to ensure that the fans of this game who have been following it for years, will get a game that they will enjoy, and not what you tell us we will enjoy?

(I know, it's a harsh question, but I am very skeptical at this point.)

What will be the kinds of content that users can contribute for the game? For example if starship interiors, which many people desire, are not in game at launch will they be able to use the content creator to construct said interiors? Or is it only for things such as mission building?

I'm guessing that the topic is still open, personaly I had a huge question about the newly announced factions its a multiparter:

-With the game now having two factions (Federation & Klingon Empire) how will this change the face of the community, I know many people have gathered together in fleets and guilds in anticipation of STO, but they've done so under the idea that everyone will be federation. Will this effectively split those guilds, forcing Klingon players to create their own Imperial guilds and non-Klingons to create Federation guilds? Or will fleets/guilds have the ability to support both factions and have a mixed roster?

i have only one question for cryptic...

although i realise this is still early days in the development of sto.. how is cryptic gonna market this game to the consumer..  will it be along the same lines of pricing and billing for games like WOW or EVE, or will it be along the lines of games like Flyff, second life etc... there are many trek gamers out there itching for a true mmo but also new gamers who are star trek fanes who may be interested. all with varying budgets for their pocket and i am understabable curious on how this will be marketed upon the general release to encourage both vetran trek gamers and new trek gamers to this mmo?

the reason i ask is i have often been put off by mmo's cos of the way they are priced and often unless ur familiar with mmo's how complex to ur average joe/jane it is to familiarise urself with the pricing structure and how it works....

Will there be large ships?! (sov or gal) or are we going to be stuck with tiny shuttle crafts?    :Constitution:

A lot of people I am sure aren't going to be happy with the initial output as there ideal features weren't added which I know seeing the posts here on hailing and STO a lot share the same sentiments.

1. Would it be possible to include for user mod content playable not to mod the game but to play via the holodeck. Which essentially doesn't chew or mess up vanilla file set up to keep game running perfect for normal play.

(Vessels, locations and stories not featured or in the game could therefore by developed, valued and used by the players. and stored like programs for the holodeck.)

2. Would it be not "safer" for the developer to use an existing era, ala TOS. As space isnt that explored at the time and as the universe is coded and developed Space therefore gets bigger and you can go further...to boldly go where the next Generation haven't quite got to yet.

From there have download contents for newer eras.

3. In combat, can I get up close and melee. You know punch, punch, double axe handle to the back or the shoulder. In true all eras Trek style.

4.  further to combat - If I am a Klingon starfleet officer, can i use a Bat'leth?

5. Is each person/player responsible for his/her OWN starship? 5b. So if my friends hooked up with me, can we have a fleet?

6. After doing your training assuming there is. Does that mean you instantly start at Captain, if you have control of your starship?
