Awen started a thread about Kobayashi Maru on startrekonline.com today:
http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=13827

Quote
Kobayashi Maru Vol 1

You have been assigned to take refugees to Starbase 187 when you receive a distress signal from a medical ship ferrying critical supplies to Pacifica, which has been struck by a plague of unknown origin. When you reach the medical ship, you find that the ship is surrounded by two Gorn Cruisers and five Gorn frigates. The medical supplies must reach Pacifica, but not only are you carrying innocent civilians on your ship; you limited weapons capability.

Will you assist the medical ship that has medicine on board that may save thousands, or ensure the safety of your passengers? Choose quickly or all is lost!

How would you solve this scenario? Can you save both?

In this thread, give me the solution to this scenario. Please remember that these are all your opinions and there is no wrong answer. Any flames or trolling posts will be deleted.

Have fun!

Is exactly how I imagine alike a quest has to be for achieving a Commando. Either it could be a mission breifing for not only a away team on a world, more like operations in space with possible joined Fed ships to absolve the mission.

: Sits up :  "Red alert." : Tap : "All sections and guests of the United Federation of Planets please listen up."

"A medical supply ship in distress in a near and potentially hostile area needs our assistance. Our primary function is to serve and protect and it is unfortunate this comes when we have civilian guests on board.

To our guests. As we risked our lives to protect you earlier we hope you understand why we have to risk this now and can not take you to a safe dock first. Thank you. Please stay in your quarters. This crew is going to be running at full speed.

"Engineering. I need this all in under five minutes.  Set up up every shuttle, sail, probe...and anything else that can fly as Wild Weasel decoys!

In ten minutes we are warping into a potentially hostile Gorn sector.

The Gorn are supposed to be our allies, but in this time...one never knows. We will attempt diplomacy.  Yet. Expect the unexpected. Expect the worst. Hope for the best.

After the warp prepare for an emergency stop next to the medical ship which we will need to transport supplies. Secure everything now.

After the emergency stop. I will initiate diplomacy. As I do this here is what I want.

Drop the front starboard shield ONLY. I want transporters hot. Start beaming mines around the area at maximum distance. Prepare to launch Wild Weasels on my command.

I want all power split between ECM (electronic counter measures) and shields. Make so much noise they can't get a lock.

Medical supply ship you will drop your front port shield only when we warp in. After we lay down mines we will beam over your supplies. Use every transporter you have to assist at that time. You will have two minutes only. Stack everything to he ceilings.

If diplomacy fails I want every available crew member either at a science lab generating ECM or in the landing bay helping to deploy wild weasel decoys if needed.

In the event of hostility, we can handle the phaser fire briefly...it's the plasma that the Gorn prefer and those Wild Weasel decoys will work great if we have enough for more than an one barrage.

If we deploy decoys I want shields to normal and warp power for an emergency jump immediately after.

Emergency situation is the word here. Remember all your emergency situation training and we'll be o.k."

"O.k., folks...Mark and move!"

So much fun.

Some of the ideas over there are fantastic and some that are an absolute hoot, like the appearance of Chuck Norris!
