Following reports on WarCry.com about the closure of San Francisco based P2 Entertainment, STO-Zone/Hailing Frequency has been able to contact former sources in the company who are confirming that the company is closing down.
P2 Entertainment began their downward spiral in last 2007 with the announcement that they were ceasing development on their highly anticipated Gods and Heroes Game. Shortly after this, they were sued for fraud by Kohnke Communications in a lawsuit that was eventually settled out of court. In early 2008, P2 Entertainment announced that they were ceasing devlopment of Star Trek Online and had passed the I.P to another San Francisco Bay Area Based Devlopment Studio.
News of the closure does not come as suprising to many people in the industry or the gaming community - and many bitter trek gamers are happy to see this company gone, once and for all.
P2 Entertainment, Formerlly Perpetual Entertainment was a company founded in March 2002 by Chris Mcgibben and Joe Keene and was an American developer, publisher and operator of networked multiplayer games and MMORPGs. Their headquarters was in San Francisco, California, USA.
