Submitted mine yesterday, although having to count the words and shorten my entry over and over I felt like I was in 3rd grade detention again. =)

500 words is a tough one... I'm 65 over, after hours of downsizing.  How close do you think they will cut it?  501? 565?  or really 500?

I think you'd have the best chance if you conformed to all of their rule - including the 500 limit.  It  sucks, but, they are probably getting thousands of entry's and looking to wein down the ones they have to filter through as much as possible.
