News and other stuff from Aftermath.

Development on 2.2/Content Patch has officially begun. We already have a new mission completed though it will get a few cosmetic changes before its done and dusted. We have I think 3 more missions that have just entered their dev cycles (covering various modes). We been doing some interface studies (concepts and prototypes), its a pain in the ass as usual but they are big undertakings. A new type of Armada mode map has entered its dev cycle which may pave way for an additional Armada mode (Light, Heavy and a possible new one). All depends on how much I can work with it and how far I can take it.

We not all on board at the moment but over the coming weeks we will be. Promo for 2.2 wont start for at least another week or so maybe two.

Onto some other news, we have another first (more to add to the list ). We have just entered a distribution deal with RapidGames, they are offering Aftermath up at their site and all future releases we put out. They are very interested in our product and its a new partnership for us. We are the only playable ST offering over at RapidGames (the other ST offering is the trailer to ST Online).

We are expanding to bigger things

When would you expect it to be on the RapidGames site tjoz?
Would it be the Promo date ( "another week or so maybe two" ) that you mentioned?

We are already up at RapidGames, we are classified as an actual game. The deal was immediate. Its pretty big for us to be picked up by a commercial site too. At moment we are deciding on whether to release an Add-on to Aftermath. With our Add-ons, they are treated differently to content patches as the add-ons will never appear in a main release whereas a content patch will appear in the next main release.

We keep add-ons for stuff we deem as a risk that is too great to jeopardize the main releases. We have more pressure now to make sure our releases are air-tight and also so the quality and consistency isnt affected.

We been starting some promo over at other sites for 2.2, but for now we will give you a shot from one of the new maps from 2.2 release called 'Horizon'. The shot was first shown yesterday in a screenshot forum over at Legacy Files but its good enough for promo use now. The Horizon map is a prototype Armada mode map that could see the possibility of a third Armada mode for Aftermath. Still early days...

We got more stuff to show today, not much but still pretty pictures though. We going to start doing new videos soon just we wait till we build a bit more up first.

What we showing today... New texture work thats what. Here is a few looks at our new Sovereign we working on. It still WIP but we have been getting alot of great feedback from it. We will keep changing it till we get it how we want it. Its had normal and spec work done so far, glows are next.

What we will also throw in are some beauty shots of the Galaxy class too. These are all in 2.2 and they are in-game footage. The shots have not been touched up at all. The only thing added to them are the 2.2 tag in the bottom corner.

Eventually, we will be making changes to all textures in our mod ranging from small scale work right through to complete retextures. Take note on eventually, it will be spread out over many releases. We making everything look good in Aftermath.

We got more shots of the Sovereign, but we yet to convert and tag them. Today though we showing a WIP of our new Ktinga. What we are going for is to turn the Ktinga into a more war-like/militaristic type ship instead of being the normal green that it is. So far we have got it to look war-like but we want to add more to it, plus we still go tthe glows, bumps and specs to work on.

What we have introduced for 2.2 are team projects. The team projects are a chance for all of us to work in an area we normally wouldnt work in and at the same time, brings new work into the mod. This also puts an end to the dry spells that were happening throughout the last release dev cycle.

Your image on your pic ( ^ above ^ ) links leads to a "blank" page. How-ever, clicking on the link at the top of this post works for it! ? !? !?

The response:

The URI you submitted has disallowed characters: ktinga-22-wip" title="ktinga (2.2 wip) - mod db" target="_blank

This is the page I am getting that from when I click on your pic. link:
