Hello. I could not get an answer on another board so I wanted to try here...
Been a long time since I came to ask a question about modding...
I was reading tutorials to find some simple ODF stuff, but none really explained what I was looking for.
I found a mod where someone just did some ship ODFs, changed stuff, and saved as new names. That is it. Only ODFs are in this pack (ships and weapons). They work. New ships are buildable and playable. I tried the same thing, taking a Borg Diamond ODF, changing some stats, renaming it, but nothing happens. The only difference I see, other than weapon, etc. stats, is his diamond ODF has "basename = "B_tng_diamond"". I do not understand why but I added that line in my "B_tng_diamondv2" file but still nothing. Nothing else in his ODF links to any other file (except for weapons but I am sticking with the game defaults for this diamond).
I am just trying to make an extra ship using a copy of an existing ODF. This person did it. Trying to figure why I can not.
