Title: Forum Signitures and Avatars
Post by: Zach on 22 February 2008 09:32 PM
Those of you coming here from STO-Net will notice that we run a different forum software.

You can set your forum Sig and Avatar in your profile, in the "Forum Profile Information" Section.

As with any other forum, you can use your own hosting, or upload to our servers :).

Joluan Tru, or Greetings non-Rommies.

This is a test of the Sig and Avatar system, if this was a real Red Alert you would not have received any warning.  :andorian1:

Are there any restrictions to the use of Signatures?
For example this one of mine (IE: Advertisement of another mmo).

I don't have a problem with it.

Enjoy your other MMO's.

Thanks for being here.

See you in ST:O.

Errr....
The reason I asked is that I am the developer for that MMO.  So kind of want to promote it, but I can understand if there are rules or opinions in place to not do so (avoiding commercialization for example).

That particular one is a bit too big and I will provide a smaller one.

Just some tips for others about image signatures:

You can center them by using the center tags:
Code: [Select]
 And can add in URL's:
Code: [Select]

Note: adding in URL's into signatures are possible, they may need to be restricted as the URL can point to some other destination.  When about to click on the signature image, let the mouse hover over it, pause and look to what the URL actually is (as seen in the lower right corner on the web browser).  However, with the case here, there does not seem to be any users who would do such a thing.  So it is a low risk here.

Note: I have opted out of providing a URL in my signature (which is why it doesn't work, even though I gave these tips).  I think it takes away from the potential revenue from the in-post ads.

You are correct and thanks for pointing that out.  I have made the correction.

I was wondering about that one...  I do like to advertise it...  but I don't want to abuse any relations here either.  So I'm kind of stuck debating with myself.
