 That last part...:

As such, you may transfer Bridge Officers to other players in exchange for their Officers or other goods and services.

...worries me a little. Sounds like it could lead to a "Money Trading" type of setup within the game.

What do you mean by Money Trading? The selling of "gold" type of thing?

For me, it seems it's more about physical item trades. Perhaps I have found some rare item on a planet and encounter someone has a spare BO, and I have a free slot. We can then trade.
That's how I see it. Though I'm sure what "Services" will be in STO.

I like the idea of transferring officers. That way, within a fleet you might be able to choose from a 'pool' of available officers for a given mission. It can be abused as earlier stated, and while the idea of being able to totally expel all 'gold trading/farmers' is laudable, I think it's impossible.

It is a good tool to allow Senior Players to help out the junior players in their progress in the game when operating in a Fleet/Clan.

I agree. This can be abused, horribly.......

The BOFFs have to be one rank below you. Or at least they can only use their skills available to them as if they were one level below you.

So it won't be that bad I think.

To the money system, http://www.alltern8.com/library/mmo_games/an_in-depth_preview_of_star_trek_onlines_earth_spacedock/l-4600.html wrote the following:

Each item that can be purchased is bought using Energy Credits or Starfleet Merits, the two forms of currency in the game. While both are earned as you complete missions, Credits are used as money to purchase items for your character and ship and Merits are used to purchase new ships and crew as you become a more meritorious captain.
