release/download/beta and what not

Have not seen a firm statement on this question:  since "open" beta starts Jan 12th and goes through jan 26th, will there be a need to errase it and redownload the game again for "headstart?"  I have seen games do it both ways.  technically, those who preordered will get a key for the jan12-26th beta and then get the headstart on the 29th.  does anyone know if the beta version will need to be errased and redownloaded for headstart?

Thanks in advance.

no. It is written on www.startrekonline.com/openbeta
Just read the last few paragraphs. The game client will update itself (if you purchased the game) so you can play after the open-beta

Yeah the Client will update for Headstart, and it should be a fairly small patch too!
