Not fair
« on: 26 January 2010 07:29 PM »,2041.msg16827.html#msg16827

It is only natural for a "Lotus Fleet" to recall nominations for a "Fleet" nominations, like:

Top Star Trek RPG/SIM/PBEM of 2009
Best Star Trek Gaming Podcast of 2009
Top Star Trek Clan/Guild of 2009

But personal nominations are exactly that PERSONAL and for belonging to Lotus Fleet for Vice Admiral Stevens, Vice Admiral Athos, and Vice Admiral Rayez should not be a reason not to be included into this years voting.

Some of you know, most of you probably don't - I resigned Lotus Fleet and parted with them in not so good standing, but cannot accept what is just not fair toward people.

I'm calling you here to vote against injustice.

Or if you consider it fair vote for it.

Do what you feel fair...

If the people in question are ok with it, then I don't see any issue.

[RS] feels that Lotus Fleet should be allowed in to the competition, I fully understand why they have withdrawn themselves but it is not necessary for them to do so, HF is not pushing them in the vote so there is no issue and I firmly believe that Zach is above such pettiness.

The above post maybe a bit over dramatic but the underlying point is correct they should be in as people have nominated them I applaud them for there Mature and self sacrificing efforts to protect the reputation of HF but in this case it is un-needed.

Fleet Admiral Nova pulled Lotus Fleet out of the nominations for Top Star Trek Clan/Guild of 2009 after controversy arose on the forums about their inclusion in the category. I applaud he and his officers for that decision. It showed a integrity and an un-biased attitude for Lotus Fleet as a whole.
Remember? There were controversies over Fleet members nominating their own sites, and because some people were interjecting that because Nova is a co-host on the site that there would be a conflict of interest. Fleet Admiral Nova willingly stepped in and withdrew Lotus Fleet for those reasons, in my opinion.

As to the withdrawals of Admirals Stevens, Athos, and Rayez from the respective categories, I presume that that was an internal Fleet matter connected with the exclusion of Lotus Fleet from the previously mentioned category.

I personally commend the decisions by Lotus Fleet and her staff, and as Zach pointed out, ""If the people in question are ok with it, then I don't see any issue."".
