I was (and still am) shocked when I heard this podcast. 100% of the information about Allegiance was incorrect.

--

Allegiance NEVER suffered a "huge setback"

The programmer (me) has NEVER said that Allegiance is "on permanent hold"

Allegiance has NEVER had a "computer failure resulting in several thousand lines of code being lost"

The programmer (me) has NEVER said that he "does not have the available time at the moment to recreate the lost work"

Allegiance IS under heavy development.

--

There was a small issue where I though I lost a few days work MANY months back, however I was mistaken, and this crisis resulted in NO loss of work.

I HIGHLY suggest checking out the BOTF2 Hailing Frequencies Thread where I give my explanation and more about this misinformation, including more responses from other BOTF2 members.

--

Hailing Frequencies is still the best podcast online for trek gaming, and I'll continue to support it fully.

Re: Hailing Frequency Episode 38 SFC & The Sacawegea

I recall the "So Called" problem. A few of us were ingame testing some aspects out, when it basically crashed on us. We also were all on MSN at that time as well. Seems a power cord went bad and burned some insulation. Nem "Thought" he lost a portion of his newest coding. 3 minutes later he traced out the "Bad" Cord, replaced it and WaLA! All was well and good.

Personally I found the segement by K'suan'indra or whom ever she is a tad insulting. IT also tells me they run information without checking any facts. I happen to know this information Because I was There! Online. and freaking out as bad a Nem was. When he told us the folly. I laughed long and hard. And a few minutes later..was back ingame testing some "Fun" stuff.

Anyhow we ran our different tests then jumped into a hard core game test, pushing each other to the limits of the game.

I can say the test was most successful. And in fact it gave Nem more ideas for improvments!

So To this gal.... Please! Check your Facts before Broadcasting.

False Information kills interest and thereby kills games.

  • Howdy, folks!
IMO, THANK GOODNESS it was not true!  You can't believe how I groaned in deep sympathy at the news.

Though not responsible for the error, please forgive us.

Don't be mad at K'Suan. She is not responsible for fact checking and groaned in sympathy for you too when going over the news.

It will be corrected!

Best wishes always!

I recieved several e-mails stating that the project had been cancelled.

I will rectify this next show.

However, please, in the future, do not send out e-mails stating that the project was cancelled - if it wasnt you guys, then it was someone else from this forum.

Its wasted our time, and caused you guys issues.

Most of the time, we do not have the time to go sifting through potentially dozens of threads to confirm or unconfirm information, however, when we recieve more than one report in our e-mail inboxes, from more than one person, its usually considered to be accurate.

I completely agree that this is good news. I'm very much looking forward to Alleigiance, and was not happy at all to hear the gaming news. This makes me feel much, much better!

Thanks for your understanding and support,

I checked my email, and I have never sent any email to hailing frequency, you, or anyone saying that the game is canceled. I have also never used the BOTF2 email system, and I plan to go check to see if that has logs as well.

There is only one person who can say the project is canceled, and thats me. It annoys me a bit that someone would actually send such emails.

This isn't a huge problem, I just want to get to the bottom of it.

Could you please give me the email address of those who did send those emails?

Ummm I couldn't help but notice in the ep that there would be some pics and links up on the second life star trek project. Where are these links and pics? I've looked through almost your whole forum and I can't find them. I'd like to go and see this ship but the location information in the ep is muffled and I can't understand what is being said.

If you could show me where these links and images are, or explain to me where to find the ship that would be great.

Thanks for your help.
