ASSIMILATION... a poem

Assimilation

a poem

The bridge all broken, scattered sparks and bones,

and klaxons break the shrieks of crew

and metal.

The captainís eyes, like Iíve never seen,

all whites and panic as his ship falls dim

and silent.

Phasers cut and hiss the air, ozone razors burn my eyes,

and I canít see but feel their grip, so cold, so strong

and cruel.

Their technology, under my skin, corrupts my nerves,

I remember my wifeís face, resistance, so weak...

and futile.
