Abrams pretty much confirms new ST Series.

It is pretty easy to guess that if the new movie is a runaway hit (as it seems to be), there would be a new series.

This question was asked BEFORE the premiere in Australia and Texas.

How do you do it in a new way?
Nobody has been better at answering these kinds of questions than the Trek community.
Get your ideas out there as fast as possible!

IMO in a nutshell:  Make the UFP the 'Wagon Train'...not a single ship. (my interest lie in figuring out how to leverage the new film and series for a MMO & how to tie-in storylines from the news series into the MMO.)

Can you let subscribers participate in open ended story-line events?
Can subscribers participate in the construction of canon elements over the next forty years?

The movie is a runaway hit.  I just saw it last night and it was pretty damn good.  I've posted a review on the chris jones gaming forums under the Star Trek XI category

  hmmmm, well I'm sticking to my guns and wont pay a dime to see this movie. However a good friend seems to have gotten a copy of it and I plan on umm....talking to him about it.

  As for a series they bloody well better not!  TOS is what started this all in the first place, by making a new series based on the old characters it would be a slap in the face to Gene and all who worked on the show, it would be intolerable!!
