Title: Zinkievich talks "Total Customization".
Post by: BLZBUB on 05 May 2009 04:43 AM
Craig Zinkievich talks about total customization at ZAM News (http://www.zam.com/story.html?story=17843)

I mean...that is just...uhm...WOW! Those Miranda styles are ROCKIN'! :startrek071:
 Look at the colour schemes!
 At the nacelle configurations!
 Look at those pod styles!
Just tweaking my ship at the game start is going to take me a good 24 hours!

Thanks for posting that BLZBUB!  I've been meaning to cover that article, but have been unusually swamped the past few days. Most of the information relayed in his statement has already been covered, but it's nice to see that Cryptic is really focusing on allowing the user to have their own unique ship. Combing ascetics and functionality into the overall equation should provide for some awesome looking ships!

Your welcome, and I was aware of your "swamped" status.
The uniqueness of ones ship is going to be a major drawing card for the game...along with the character creator of course...and I am happy that the range of customization for one's ship will not detract to much from it's configuration.

Our goal is to let players have the ship they want, but also to help other players know what kind of ship someone has at a glance.
